(Millersburg, OH) Pomerene Hospital is planning its annual “Baby Walk” fundraiser for the Pomerene Lifting Hearts bereavement program for Saturday, October 14th.
The "Baby Walk" is a 10-mile Walkathon that will start at the Pomerene Memory Garden at 9 am. With registration beginning at 8 am. The walk continues through the Holmes County Trail to Fredericksburg.
Pizza will be provided in Fredericksburg at the conclusion of the walk. Those who cannot walk the entire 10 miles are welcome and encouraged to join us halfway to participate.
For additional information on the event or to obtain a sponsor sheet, please contact Toni Mishler, Bereavement Coordinator at Pomerene, at 330- 674-1584, ext. 2130.
The walk is by donation, and walkers are encouraged to get individual sponsors. Participants may walk in memory of a specific baby and will receive a personalized button to wear at the walk.
Toni encourages anyone to participate in the event, with special invitation to those families who have been personally touched by infant death.
“It’s the perfect opportunity to reconnect with others who have been affected by infant loss and to offer support to each other, while at the same time providing the funds necessary for us to continue helping other families in the future with our services and events. “Combine this while enjoying the beautiful Holmes County Trail during the fall, and it's a win-win”, she said.
All proceeds benefit support group events educational materials, comfort items for bereaved families and continued maintenance of the Pomerene Memory Garden. The memory garden is a place of peace and encouragement for families who have suffered infant loss.
